Toro tests snow blowers in U.P.
IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI– Minnesota-based Toro is following the snow and testing some of its equipment in the Upper Peninsula.
The Ironwood Daily Globe reports that Toro has been testing snow blowers since January 10 at the Gogebic-Iron County Airport. Plans were to test them in Northern Minnesota, but not enough snow has fallen there this winter.
Airport Manager Duane Duray says Ironwood Township had about three inches of snow cover when Toro called about the testing. But even that was enough. Last week there were snow piles of two to three feet deep at the airport.
Duray says ten local people have been hired to test the machines. He says toro may spend another three weeks at the airport.
Toro’s main office is in Bloomington, Minnesota.
