Alleged Forsyth Township arsonist arrested

GWINN, MI--   Police have arrested a Gwinn man for setting a Sawyer house fire that killed a woman in May. 

Steven Scott Zintman was taken into custody following an investigation by Forsyth Township Police, the Michigan State Police Fire Marshal, and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab in Marquette.  He’s charged with first-degree arson and felony murder in the death of Sally Plume.  She died in a fire at 609 Valkyrie Street May 5.

Zintman remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $2 million cash bond.  He faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
