Arrest made in Ishpeming meth lab case

MARQUETTE, MI--   An Ishpeming man has been arrested in connection with a meth lab found at a residence earlier this month. 

Joshua Vorase, 33, is charged with one count of operating/maintaining a meth lab after Ishpeming Police found several HCL generators and one-pot cooks in a garage on the 700 block of East Ridge Street May 6th

Vorase was arrested last Friday and remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail.  A preliminary exam is set for May 31st in Ishpeming District Court.  He faces up to 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

The homeowner in the case is not considered to be a suspect and cooperated with the investigation.

Ishpeming Police were assisted by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and the Ishpeming Fire Department. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
