Cement truck strikes pedestrian near Witch Lake

REPUBLIC TOWNSHIP, MI--   A man was hit by a cement truck on M-95 in Marquette County Thursday.

Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post responded to a site near Witch Lake in Republic Township on a report that a pedestrian was hit. Investigation revealed Dean Lindblom, 49, of Quinnesec was on foot when he was struck by a northbound Champion cement truck. The vehicle was driven by James Sargent, 52, of Iron Mountain.

Lindblom was taken to UPHS-Marquette with non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Republic Township Fire/EMS.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
