Chassell Township crash injures one

CHASSELL TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Houghton County over the weekend. 

Sheriff’s deputies say it happened Saturday on Massie Road near Lehtola Road in Chassell Township. Alyyson Denomie, 25, of Baraga lost control of her vehicle, went into the ditch, and struck a tree. Denomie was the only occupant. She had to be extricated from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life.

Denomie was taken to UPHS-Portage and admitted for treatment. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
