Eight inducted into Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame

ISHPEMING, MI--   The U.S. National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame has inducted an Olympic silver medalist and seven other new members at a ceremony in Ishpeming.

The event happened Friday at W.C. Peterson Auditorium.

Inductees include 2002 Olympic silver medalist Joe Pack, 1985 world championships bronze medalist Eva Twardokens and pro ski racer Tyler Palmer.

Other inductees are snow sports developer Nick Badami, skiing historian Mason Beekley, writer and coach Dick Dorworth, industry leader Philip Gravink and ski show pioneer Harry Leonard.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
