UP electric association receives USDA loan

Alger-Delta Electric

Undated - The Alger-Delta Cooperative Electric Association has received a USDA Rural Development loan to improve electric reliability. The $8 million loan will be used to build 42 miles of line and make improvements to 44 miles of existing lines. Alger-Delta provides power to nearly 10,000 rural residential and business consumers over more than 1,300 miles of line across some of the most remote and challenging areas in Michigan.

USDA Rural Development provides loans and grants to help expand economic opportunities and create jobs in rural areas. This assistance supports infrastructure improvements; business development; housing; community facilities such as schools, public safety and health care; and high-speed internet access in rural areas.
