Flooding victims can still get money, KCF says

HOUGHTON, MI--   The Keweenaw Community Foundation says funding is still available for those whose homes were severely damaged by Houghton County flooding.

Houses must fall under the “majorly” or “completely destroyed” spectrum according to the list compiled through Houghton County Unified Command. “Destroyed” is defined as permanently uninhabitable. The home is 100 percent damaged and repair costs exceed the structure’s value. “Majorly damaged” means repairs are likely to take more than 30 days, the home is less than or equal to 50 percent damaged, and the damage involves structural features affecting strength and safety.

An application can be obtained at keweenawcommunityfoundation.org, by calling 906-233-6621, or by emailing Dial Help at dial.help@dialhelp.org.
