Going to NMU will be slightly more expensive next year

MARQUETTE, MI--   Tuition at Northern Michigan University is going up, but will remain within the cap to receive state funding.

Thursday the Board of Trustees approved a 3.2 percent increase.  That translates into $149 more per semester for a full-time resident undergraduate.  The annual cost will be $9,383.

Next year NMU will keep its rank of having the second-lowest tuition and fees among Michigan’s public universities.

The board also voted to increase graduate tuition.  Resident graduate students will pay $474 per credit hour, an increase of $33.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
