HOUGHTON, MI-- Houghton County Memorial Airport is getting funding from the Federal Aviation Administration.
U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters announced the grant Thursday. The airport is using the $1,629,463 to rehabilitate the runway and apron, and purchase snow removal equipment.
Airport Manager Dennis Hext says the grant will allow them to improve safety, help support jobs in the region, and keep the airport a dependable hub for air travel.
