Interview: From Bach to the Future, with the MSO

Octavio Mas-Arocas (pictured at the podium with members of the orchestra) is the new conductor for the Marquette Symphony Orchestra. He will lead the orchestra in their first concert of the 2018-19 season with "From Bach to the Future," a program that features music of and related to J.S. Bach, in part with the BachFest Marquette.

The BachFest is underway for the Marquette community, and the Marquette Symphony Orchestra is taking part in the festivities.  For their first concert of the season, titled "From Bach to the Future," they feature a tribute to J.S. Bach.  Music selections include Bach's Fantasia and Fugue in C minor and Tre Corali.  This concert will also be the first of the season including Octavio Mas-Arocas as the new Principal Conductor of the MSO.  We spoke with him in the studio leading up to the concert:
