Ishpeming Township man arrested on felony drug charges

SANDS TOWNSHIP, MI--   One suspect has been arrested in a Marquette County drug investigation. 

On Monday detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and Homeland Security Investigations executed search warrants at residences in Sands Township and Ishpeming Township. They seized approximately 8 ounces of crystal meth, 20 grams of heroin, and other illicit drugs. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be more than $25,000.

A 33-year-old Ishpeming Township man was arrested in Sands Township and lodged in the Marquette County Jail on charges related to the distribution of crystal meth and heroin. His name is not being released at this time.

The case remains under investigation and additional arrests are expected.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
