Luce County students accused of assault against juvenile

NEWBERRY, MI--   Two Newberry High School students have been arrested for sexually assaulting a juvenile boy. 

On February 16 NHS administration reported the incident to the Luce County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies launched an investigation after talking to the alleged victim, witnesses, and the suspects.

Last Thursday police arrested Noah Caswell, 18, and Cameron Symonds, 17. Both were arraigned on a charge of 2nd-degree criminal sexual conduct and released on bond.

A probable cause hearing is set for March 12 in Luce County District Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
