Man charged with killing horse headed to trial

CRYSTAL FALLS, MI--   A four-day trial has been set for a Crystal Falls man charged with attempted murder.

Luke Wool, 19, is also a suspect in the death of a horse last February and the shooting and injuring of a horse in March.

Along with attempted murder Wool is charged with felony firearms, discharging a firearm in or at a building, and two counts of killing/torturing an animal.

Wool underwent a competency exam last year.

Trial is scheduled for March 13 in Iron County Circuit Court.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
