Marinette County woman dies in house fire

BEECHER, WI (AP)--   Authorities in northeastern Wisconsin say an elderly woman is dead after a house fire.

A passer-by reported the fire in the Town of Beecher around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The Marinette County Sheriff's Office says the body of the woman was found after firefighters put out the blaze.

The name of the victim was not immediately released.

Two dogs also died in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
