Names released in car-pedestrian accident in Ishpeming

(ISHPEMING)- The names have been released in a car-pedestrian accident in Ishpeming.

City police say 50-year old Richard Charles Jordan, of Ely Township, was the driver of a pick-up truck which struck a pedestrian crossing North Third Street yesterday.

The victim, 64-year old Linda Marie Vanginkel of National Mine, was taken to Marquette General Hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Police say Jordan was driving with a denied and revoked license at the time of the accident.

He was arraigned in 96th district court today… and bond was set at $100,000.

He remains lodged in the Marquette County jail.

A preliminary exam is scheduled for August 2nd.

The accident remains under investigation.
