NewPage 100 years old this week

ESCANABA, MI--   An Upper Peninsula paper mill is celebrating a milestone. 

NewPage Corporation is kicking off a month of festivities Monday to mark the 100thanniversary of its paper mill in Escanaba.  The original Escanaba Pulp and Paper Company started producing paper in July 1912.  Last week Escanaba mayor Leo Evans proclaimed “100 years of pulp production” in the city.

Miamisburg, Ohio-based NewPage also operates mills in Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kentucky, Maine and Maryland.
