NMU to recognize scholarship at Ore Dock event

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University is celebrating the scholarship of its faculty and staff at an event at the Ore Dock Brewing Company Wednesday night.

Sponsored by the Grants and Contracts Office and the Office of Graduate Education and Research, the fourth annual Scholarship Recognition Event will feature presentations by colleagues to share news of projects that are currently underway.

Erica Goff is director of the Grants and Contracts Office. She says the event recognizes not only the impressive research and scholarly endeavors undertaken by faculty and staff each year—it also acknowledges the amount of time and energy put into a funding proposal.

President Fritz Erickson, the NMU Board, and other administrators are expected to attend.

The free event starts at 6 p.m.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
