NMU Snowfest to highlight Noquemanon partnership

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University is holding its inaugural Snowfest as it kicks off the winter semester next week.

NMU students will have free access to all the bike, ski, and snowshoe trails the Noquemanon Trail Network has to offer under a new partnership. They can also check out snow bikes, snowshoes, and cross-country skis at no charge.

To celebrate the partnership between Northern and the NTN, equipment demos and other activities will be held Thursday, January 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the academic mall. The event will also include outdoor games, live entertainment, and free treats.

NMU officials say the partnership enhances the student experience. Noquemanon officials say it provides another potential funding source that will help grow the organization.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
