NMU student headed to court after taking LSD, injuring officers

MARQUETTE, MI--   A preliminary hearing is set for an NMU student accused of becoming uncontrollably violent after taking LSD. 

Allen Teppo, 19, of Newberry is charged with malicious destruction of property between $1,000 and $2,000, resisting and obstructing an officer, and three counts of resisting and obstructing an officer, causing injury.

Teppo allegedly took acid the weekend of September 9th and became uncontrollable. Police took him into custody and transported him to the hospital. He was later arrested and arraigned on the five felonies.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for September 20, and a preliminary exam for October 4. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
