DICKINSON COUNTY, MI-- Monday marks the beginning of work on the US-2/US-141 junction in Quinnesec.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says it will reconstruct the junction to eliminate a grassy median in favor of a standard five-lane highway. The project also includes reducing the steep grade of US-2 heading toward Iron Mountain and reconstructing US-141 from the junction to just south of the railroad viaduct.
M-DOT will make drainage improvements, traffic signal upgrades, and pavement markings.
The $3 million project is expected to be completed in late August.
