Snyder speaks in Marquette
Michigan Governor Rick Snyder continued his tour across Michigan with a stop in Marquette Tuesday morning.
Snyder wants voters to approve Proposal 1—which would uphold the emergency manager law—next Tuesday, and say “no” to the rest.
Snyder’s bus arrived at the University Center at Northern Michigan University around 8:15 a.m. He spoke at a town-hall-style event with a satellite feed to Bay de Noc College in Escanaba.
Snyder says approving Proposals 2 through 6 would compromise Michigan’s economic future. He blames them for Wall Street’s decision to wait on a possible upgrade to Michigan’s credit rating.
Supporters of the proposals reject that idea, saying the Governor’s economic policies are to blame.
