Trout Creek house fire claims lives

TROUT CREEK, MI--   Two people have been killed in a house fire in Trout Creek. 

The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched Sunday around 6:40 a.m. to a residence on Old Mill Town Road. Officials say the house was occupied by two males—one 48-years-old and one 6-years old. Both were found dead in the residence. Their names are being withheld, pending notification of family.

The house was a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
