Two-car crash in Powell Township

POWELL TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two people were injured in a traffic accident in Powell Township Tuesday morning.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says around 9:55 a.m. an SUV driven by Joyce Moulds, 87, of Big Bay pulled out of a private driveway onto County Road 550. She drove into the path of a Ford wagon driven by Michael Berry, 62, of Big Bay. Though he tried to avoid Mould’s vehicle, Berry ended up hitting it.

Both were taken to UPHS-Marquette for non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
