UPSET makes drug arrest in Mackinac County

MACKINAC COUNTY, MI--   A Mackinac County man has been apprehended in connection with drug charges.

Officials with the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team say investigation led them to a residence on Fish Road, where they found an illegal marijuana operation.  Detectives seized 19 marijuana plants, over three ounces of processed pot, and three handguns.

The 66-year-old suspect was arrested on an outstanding warrant related to a conservation violation and lodged at the Chippewa County Jail.  Additional charges for manufacturing marijuana and possession of firearms are expected, pending review by the Prosecutor’s Office.

UPSET was assisted by troopers from the 8th District Hometown Security Team.
