Volunteers from U.P. and Northern Michigan head east

NORTHERN MICHIGAN (AP)--   Volunteers from Michigan are heading east to help as needed with storm response.

The volunteers include four from the American Red Cross in Upper Michigan.  They left Sunday from Northern Michigan.

The Red Cross has more than 360 people in areas expecting the worst from the storms.  Additional workers from Michigan are ready to go and are expected to be sent as needed.

Hurricane Sandy bore down on the eastern seaboard and strengthened early Monday, putting it on a collision course with two other weather systems that would create a super-storm.
