BARAGA, MI (AP)--   Two Native American tribes in the Upper Peninsula have received federal grants to support affordable housing programs.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development says it awarded $1.2 million to the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and $600,000 to the Hannahville Indian Community.

The money was provided under a program designed to help Native families who don't have the financial resources to maintain good homes.
