LANSING, MI (AP)-- The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says thousands of people have won the right to go bear hunting this year, and several hundred licenses still remain available.
The DNR announced results Monday for its drawing for about 7,900 bear hunting licenses. People were able to enter the lottery from May 1 through June 1.
The DNR says it has posted results of the drawing and says 267 leftover licenses remain available for hunting in the Bergland Management Unit from September 25 through October 26.
The department says it will sell those licenses, with holders of Lifetime Comprehensive Licenses having first shot starting at 10 a.m. July 8.
