Driver arrested for being intoxicated following multiple-vehicle accident in Dickinson County

NORWAY TOWNSHIP, MI— Several people were injured in a multiple-vehicle accident in Norway Township Friday.

Around 4:45 p.m., the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office received a number of 911 calls regarding the collision of several vehicles on US-2 near the Vulcan BP gas station.

The occupants of the vehicles that were injured were treated at the scene or taken to Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson.

One of the drivers involved in the crash was arrested for operating while intoxicated and awaits arraignment.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Norway Police Department, Integrity Care EMS, North Alert EMS, the Norway Fire Department, Joe’s Wrecker Service, and Norway Auto Body Wrecker.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
