The Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center and Hiawatha Music Co-op welcome Jamie and Jim Fox to Marquette for a residency on the Métis fiddling tradition, culminating in a concert at concert at the Whitman Commons, Thursday, November 18 at 7:30pm.
In conjunction with the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center's current exhibition, "The Seventh Fire: A Decolonizing Experience," the residency featuring fiddler Jamie Fox shines a light on the sound and heritage of Métis fiddling. She is a Métis fiddler of the Aaniih and Nakoda tribes of Montana.
We welcomed Jamie and Jim Fox, along with Dan Truckey (director/curator of the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center), to our studios for a conversation about the residency, and an in-studio performance.
