ESCANABA, MI-- A Gwinn man has been charged in connection with a March crash that killed two people in Gladstone.
Harley Durocher, 24, was the driver of a semi involved in a three-vehicle accident March 20 at the intersection of US-2/41/M-35 and South Hill Road.
Killed in the crash were Thomas Swift, 73, of Escanaba and his 73-year-old wife, Barbara. The driver of a third vehicle—Joyce Scheriff, 72, of Gladstone—was injured in the crash.
Durocher is charged with two counts of operating with a suspended license causing death, two counts of reckless driving causing death, and two counts of operating with the presence of a controlled substance causing death. Police say he ran a red light.
Durocher was driving for L.J. Roberto Logging of Gwinn.
