Chapek was taken to the hospital, treated, and released.

Baker is charged with first-degree home invasion, assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and being an habitual offender-4th offense.  He remains jailed without bond.

A preliminary hearing is set for September 9 in Schoolcraft County District Court.
