Spalding man arrested on sexual assault charges

(MEYER TOWNSHIP, Mich) – A Spalding man has been arrested on sexual assault charges.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post were called to investigate a report of sexual assault that occurred on or about December 1st, 2021, in Menominee County’s Meyer Township. The investigation revealed a man had allegedly engaged in sexual penetration of a victim under the age of 16 while in the commission of another felony.

On July 9th, troopers arrested 20-year old Dustin Randal Garvin-Thorbahn on 2 counts of ‘Criminal Sexual Conduct – First Degree (During Felony)’ and 2 Counts of ‘Criminal Sexual Conduct – Third Degree (Person 13-15)’.

Garvin-Thorbahn was arraigned Monday in Menominee County. Bond was set at $20,000 cash. He is currently lodged in the Menominee County jail pending court hearings which are scheduled for July 21st and August 15th.
