Marquette County suspect jailed for possessing child sexually abusive material

MARQUETTE, MI— A Marquette man has been arrested for possessing child pornography.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, says Samuel Numikoski, 49, was arrested after digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated after police learned he was viewing child pornographic material on the internet.

Numikoski is charged with 12 counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, one count of possession of child sexually abusive material, and 13 counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

He faces up to 24 years in prison, if convicted.

Numikoski remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
