Jamrich Hall coming down

thenorthwindonline.com

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University has started the demolition process for Jamrich Hall.

Starting Monday officials will determine what can be salvaged from the old building, then fencing will be installed around the structure and hazardous materials mediation will begin.  The site will be closed throughout the summer.

Officials say they’ll start tearing down the building late this month or in early June, starting with the link from West Science and continuing with Jamrich Hall.  Demolition is set for completion the first week of August, with site restoration complete by early October.

Pedestrian access will remain open between the new Jamrich Hall construction site and the existing Jamrich demolition site for the duration of the summer.
