HOUGHTON, MI— Michigan Tech’s new Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree has received approval from the Higher Learning Commission.
That means the accreditation and approval process required to fully implement the program is complete.
The degree was created to rehome Finlandia University’s nursing program after FinnU closed in May.
Andrew Storer is Tech’s provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. He says the program has received widespread support and Finlandia faculty, staff and students who made the transition to Tech for the fall 2023 semester have been warmly welcomed.
Storer says the new degree program gives local students an opportunity to pursue that career path without leaving the area.
