MARQUETTE, MI— Jessica Hanley is Marquette’s new mayor.
The City Commission voted unanimously Monday night to appoint her to the top post and Paul Schloegel as mayor pro tem.
Hanley said she’s honored to have had the opportunity to serve the community for four years.
“And I look forward to the year ahead and all of the things we can achieve together. I feel like in the last year, especially, we have become a very great commission, working together, hearing each other’s ideas, and I’d like to see that continue.”
Also Monday night, Jermey Ottaway was sworn in for another term, while Cary Gottlieb became a new commissioner, replacing Jenna Smith on the city commission.
