Negaunee, Gladstone residents named to state commissions

LANSING, MI— Governor Gretchen Whitmer has named two Upper Peninsula residents to a state commission and task force.

Greg Toutant of Negaunee was named to the Michigan Opioids Task Force. He’s the executive director of Great Lakes Recovery Centers and a member of the Community Mental Health Association of Michigan Provider Alliance. Toutant’s term began June 15th and expires June 14th, 2025.

Mark Bomberg of Gladstone has been named to the Commission on Services to the Aging. He’s the former director of the Long-Term Care Division at Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress. Bomberg was reappointed to represent Republicans for a term commencing July 29th and expiring July 28th, 2026.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
