Marshfield building new cancer center in Dickinson County

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI— Marshfield Clinic Health System is constructing a new Regional Cancer Center at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson.

The project will add an 8,000-square-foot structure and remodel 2,000 square feet of existing space. The center will feature private infusion suites with individual climate control, heated-massage infusion chairs, a patient nutrition area, a personal-care boutique, and confidential consultation rooms.

The new building will be an extension of the Radiation Oncology Department, located on the East end of the campus.

Contractor Gundlach-Champion started construction on the center Monday.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
