Summer Volunteer Program launches in Marquette County this weekend

MARQUETTE, MI— The United Way of Marquette County is hosting a Yoopers United volunteer program starting Sunday.

For the next six weeks, participants can get points for their volunteer hours and win prizes based on the number of points they accrue. Volunteers will participate in two age groups: 13-17 and 18 and older.

UW Marquette County Executive Director Andrew Rickauer says the goal of the program is to spread the word about what Yoopers United and the United Way do for the community. He says it’s also a way to get people excited about helping others.

More information about the Summer Volunteer Program is here.
