MARQUETTE, MI— Public information sessions regarding demolition of the old Marquette General Hospital have been rescheduled.

The NMU Foundation, Adamo Group, and City of Marquette are now holding two separate sessions on Thursday, September 7th at the Northern Center. The first session begins at 10:30 a.m. and the second at 5:30 p.m.

Demolition will happen in two phases. Adamo is in Phase 1, which includes hazardous material removal, asbestos abatement, interior demolition, and structural demolition of all buildings south of College Avenue, excluding the Blood Bank Building.

Phase 2 will include the Neldberg Building and Blood Bank Building after UPHS-Marquette relocates its operations from those locations and ends its tenancy with the NMU Foundation in 2024.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
