US-2 resurfacing to start Monday in Mackinac County

MACKINAC COUNTY, MI— The Michigan Department of Transportation will start work on a portion of US-2 in Mackinac County next week.

About 9 miles of the highway from Borgstrom Road to Hiawatha Trail will be resurfaced.

Work will be done during daylight hours only, using one lane of alternating traffic. An 11-foot lane width restriction will be in place during the project.

Work is set to start Monday and is expected to be done by the end of September.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
