A conversation with the Hiawatha Music Co-op's Executive Director, Susan Divine

UPDATE 5/11/2022: The Hiawatha Music Co-op Board of Directors has selected Terri Bocklund as the new Executive Director. Terri will replace Susan Divine who will retire following the annual Traditional Music Festival in July after ten years at the helm of the Co-op.

***************************************************************************

The 42nd Annual Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival is on for 2022, in-person at Marquette Tourist Park.

The return of the Hiawatha Fest means entertainment from local, regional, national, and international musicians. The Main Stage for Saturday and Sunday's events includes Dom Flemons, The Revelers, Damn Tall Buildings, and more. For Hiawatha teens ages 13-17, the Teen Scene has entertainment by The Knockabouts and Cotton Pickin' Kids. The 'Tween Tent' is back for ages 9-12 with activities and music, and the Children's Area has child-friendly crafts and activities. The Festival also includes workshops throughout the weekend, with attendees encouraged to bring instruments (and their voices). The full line-up of music and events is available at hiawathamusic.org.

For more information, we invited Executive Director Susan Divine to our studios to tell us more, including important new check-in information and further details on the festival this year:

Kurt lives in Marquette with his family and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He loves music, games, running, being near water, and a fine cold brew coffee.
