Northern Arts & Culture: Marc Himes and Louise Lundin at Deo Gallery

Marc Himes / Louise Lundin

Water. Color. Wood. on display throughout October

Marquette's Deo Gallery hosts Marc Himes and Louise Laakso Lundin's work in an exhibit titled Water. Color. Wood. Marc's wood-turning pieces and Louise's watercolor paintings are on display throughout the month of October 2022.

The artists strive to create pieces that play with the elements of color through their mediums of watercolor paintings and wood-turned vessels. Marc and Louise both have roots in the Upper Peninsula; Marc lives in Marquette, and Louise formerly lived in Eben Junction. They are also relatives, making the co-exhibition a family display.

Kurt Hauswirth spoke with both artists about their month-long collaborative display:

A conversation with Marc and Louise

An artist reception takes place on October 13th from 6-8 pm at the Deo Gallery in the City of Marquette's Arts and Culture Center, located on the lower level of the Peter White Public Library.

More information on the display can be found at mqtcompass.com.

Kurt lives in Marquette with his family and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He loves music, games, running, being near water, and a fine cold brew coffee.
