The search for the next Upper Peninsula Poet Laureate is on.
Poetry and the spoken word is promoted and celebrated in the U.P. by the Upper Peninsula Poet Laureate Foundation, a 501(c)(3). The group celebrates poetry through online and print publications and also champions the U.P. Poets Laureate. The laureate represents all 15 counties of the Upper Peninsula.
Martin Achatz is the Vice President of the foundation and he stopped by Public Radio 90's studios to speak about the application window for the next U.P. Poet Laureate:
