A conversation with Linda King Ferguson

During the pandemic, a drive to create optimism and joy led Linda King Ferguson to new colorful works of art.

Linda's "Sundog Series" is on display at the Graci Gallery in Marquette, Michigan (one of two homes for Linda, the other being Nashville, Tennessee), and the work includes "perceptual abstractions of chromatic fractures." This translates to a mesmerizing, mathematical, pattern-based design of colors, which gives an illusion of depth and movement in a two-dimensional space. However, her work is not all designed for a flat space; some are scaled to the human form, resembling 3-D torso shapes. Some of her works are designed like garments: cut, folded, stained, and printed.
