The Marquette City Band continues to entertain the people of Marquette, and during their summer concert series, they welcome guest soloists. This July, they welcome the youth clarinet soloist Maddox Lewis from Allendale, MI.

As part of its mission to offer musical opportunities to people of all ages, the band provides Children's Concerts that cater to children and kids at heart. These concerts typically feature well-known music from movie soundtracks, TV shows, video games, and other popular songs.

Youth clarinet soloist Maddox Lewis will be a senior at Allendale High School in the fall of 2024, having started playing the clarinet in sixth grade. He took private lessons in seventh grade and now participates in high school marching band, wind ensemble, and jazz band. He is a member of the Grand Rapids Youth Symphony and takes clarinet lessons at Grand Valley State University. In 2023 he was a finalist in the Outstanding Soloist Competition and won in 2024. Outside of music, he enjoys studying history, helping with church events, and collecting vintage video games.
