Additional site established for UW face mask giveaway

MARQUETTE, MI--   The United Way of Marquette County has added another distribution site for free face masks on Saturday.

As part of Make a Difference Day the United Way will hand out cloth masks to anyone in the community. The drive-thru event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fair Avenue canopy entrance of the Peninsula Medical Center and in the Ace Hardware parking lot in Ishpeming.

The masks are sealed in plastic and the distribution will follow COVID-19 interaction recommendations.

The United Way received the masks from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through its Project: America Strong grant program.
