MARQUETTE, MI--   A Negaunee resident has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, following a crash in Marquette Township.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched Friday just before 4 p.m. to US-41 near Commerce Drive. Deputies say a Nissan Versa driven by a Negaunee resident tried to cross the highway from the crossover through the eastbound lanes when it failed to yield to traffic. The Versa was struck in the rear passenger side by a Ford F150 driven by a Marquette resident.

The passengers of the pickup truck sought their own treatment for minor injuries. The driver of the Versa declined medical treatment.

The Negaunee resident was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicating liquor.

The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol is considered a factor.
