Alcohol, weather factors in Sagola crash, troopers say

SAGOLA TOWNSHIP, MI--   An Ishpeming man has been critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in Dickinson County.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say it happened Sunday around 7:45 p.m. on M-95 near the Marquette County line in Sagola Township.

A vehicle driven by a 66-year-old Channing man was southbound when the driver lost control and crossed the centerline. He hit a northbound vehicle driven by a 21-year-old Ishpeming man with a 21-year-old female passenger from Republic.

Both occupants of the northbound vehicle were taken to UPHS-Marquette. The man is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was taken to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Troopers believe alcohol and weather conditions were factors in the crash.

All involved were wearing seat belts.
